Dr. Agartha Ohemeng is a Senior Lecturer of Nutrition at the Department of Nutrition and Food Science, University of Ghana, Legon. She obtained both her first (BSc. Nutrition and Biochemistry) and second (MPhil Environmental Science) degrees from the University of Ghana, and her doctoral degree (PhD Human Nutrition) from McGill University, Canada. Her research interests are Maternal and infant Nutrition, School Child Nutrition, and Diet and Disease. Dr. Ohemeng has about fourteen years of experience in community-based nutrition research activities and played important roles on significant infant and young child projects such as the WHO Multicentre Growth Reference Study – Ghana Site (Quality Control) and the Research to Improve Infant Nutrition and Growth (Project Manager). She has conducted research and published on using integrated education intervention and moringa forticant to address complementary feeding, household food insecurity and child health, nutrition among school aged children, and nutrition among children with sickle cell disease. She is currently the Programmes Coordinator of the University of Ghana Nutrition Research and Training Centre in Asesewa and the Director of the Training in Rural Community Nutrition Program. This internship program involves the planning and implementation of community-based nutrition care process projects in collaboration with North American collaborators
